Taking comfort in eternal space-time? my worry about it

Postby Akhil » Fri Nov 03, 2017 10:41 am

Hey guys! I recently saw many physicists taking comfort in the idea of B theory( versions of block universe ) of time. Some famous guys are Einstein, Max tegmark, Neil degrasse tyson. (max tegmark talk at time 06:24 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJVP0WEOFmk) The comfort may be that all the moments we experience aren't erased permanently after all. So whats worrying me is this "don't quantum theory seem different to that notion of time?" or is it that in the domain of humans quantum theory converges to general relativity? If so then isn't it wrong to take comfort in such an idea which is based on approximate theory(GR). Can someone please discuss this issue further.
