Yes, eqs. (37) and (38) are the key equations. They are more or less the same as eqs. (5) and (6) of Pearle's paper. You may have a copy of his paper. We cannot post it here because of the copyrights, but if you do have his paper then have a look at his eqs. (5) and (6) to see if you follow his argument. That would be a good start.

I have posted a revised version of the "Local Causality" paper on the arXiv: http://arxiv.org/abs/1405.2355

Now the abstract for this substantively expanded version reads as follows:

A local, deterministic, and realistic model within a Friedmann-Robertson-Walker spacetime with constant spatial curvature (S^3) is presented which describes simultaneous measurements of the spins of two fermions emerging in a singlet state from the decay of a spinless boson. Exact agreement with the probabilistic predictions of quantum theory is achieved in the model without data rejection, remote contextuality, superdeterminism, or backward causation. A singularity-free Clifford-algebraic representation of S^3 with vanishing spatial curvature and non-vanishing torsion is then employed to transform the model in a more elegant form. Several event-by-event numerical simulations of the model are presented, which confirm our analytical results with the accuracy of 4 parts in 10^4 parts.

Joy, it occurs to me that it’s easy to prove that a point at infinity such as that which differentiates R^3 from S^3, maps to the entire set of points in R^3.

In other words, the distance of one point to another is finite, except one, following from the arithmetic theorem that a point can map simultaneously to any set of points, provided it is far enough away.

So when we speak of a dynamic physical system finite in space and unbounded in time, every time interval except one is identical to every other (as Leslie Lamport shows by Buridan’s Principle: every measure function continuous from an initial condition in a bounded length of time contains a singularity of uncertain position).

Quantum mechanical descriptions of reality lack the feature of the point at infinity (thus the need for renormalization to restore the N – 1 physical measure result.

Just thinking out loud.

Good observations, Tom.

Yes, it is not difficult to prove, by stereographic projection for example, how R^3 relates to S^3 by a single point at infinity.

I suppose I should provide a brief background to this paper for the uninitiated --- just to explain what the significance is of this paper.

Well, it demonstrates in detail that quantum entanglement is not a fundamental feature of the world, by answering in the affirmative the question famously left open by Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (EPR) in 1935.

EPR concluded in their famous paper of 1935 that “While we have thus shown that the wave function does not provide a complete description of the physical reality, we left open the question of whether or not such a description exists.” This question is answered in my paper in the affirmative.
