Gravitational Waves

Postby jreed » Thu Feb 11, 2016 10:57 am

MIT just announced that the gravitational wave detector LIGO has detected gravitational waves from a collapsing binary star. This is exciting news for general relativity followers. The experiment has been worked on for many years and this is the first confirmation of Einstein's prediction from General Relativity of gravitational waves.
